IV and IM
Nutrient Therapy
at AEOM

Clinical-grade nutrient infusions and injections — used as part of structured care, not as standalone wellness theatre

Intravenous and intramuscular nutrient therapy delivers vitamins, amino acids and clinical compounds directly into the bloodstream — bypassing the digestive system, achieving plasma concentrations not possible with oral supplementation, and producing measurable effects on energy, recovery, immunity and skin. We offer a structured menu of IV and IM treatments — used both as standalone treatments and as components of our broader wellness programmes. AEOM at Home — our private at-home IV service for members and programme patients — launches in 2026.

Introduction

Nutrient therapy,
properly contextualised

IV and IM nutrient therapy has become one of the most-marketed and least-understood treatments in wellness. At the credible end, it's clinical-grade nutritional medicine — used in hospitals for decades, with established protocols for rehydration, vitamin repletion, recovery and immune support. At the less credible end, it's wellness theatre — celebrity-driven "drips" with claims that range from optimistic to actively misleading.

AEOM sits firmly in the clinical-grade end. We use IV and IM nutrient therapy where it makes clinical sense — to address actual deficiencies identified through bloodwork, to support recovery from illness, exertion or stress, and as components of structured wellness programmes. We don't sell drips on the premise that they'll burn fat, cure hangovers as their primary purpose, or transform health in one visit. We use them properly, and we explain honestly what they will and won't do.

Why IV/IM rather than oral supplementation:

For many nutrients, intravenous delivery genuinely matters:

Bioavailability

Oral absorption of some nutrients (particularly glutathione, NAD+, high-dose Vitamin C) is limited; IV delivery achieves plasma concentrations not possible with oral dosing

Speed

IV nutrients act quickly — useful for recovery, acute deficiency repletion, or pre-event preparation

Compliance

A single IV session delivers what would otherwise require weeks of consistent oral supplementation

Clinical control

Doses and combinations are precisely controlled; we know exactly what's in the bloodstream

For other situations, oral supplementation is the right answer — and we'll say so. IV/IM therapy isn't always the optimal approach; we'll discuss honestly at consultation.

HOW IT WORKS

The two delivery routes

Intravenous (IV) Therapy

A small cannula is placed in a vein (typically in the arm) and a clinical-grade nutrient solution is delivered over 30–60 minutes. The patient sits comfortably in a treatment chair throughout — reading, working on their laptop, watching something on their phone, or resting. The treatment is non-painful (beyond the brief sensation of the cannula being placed) and most patients describe a sense of warmth, settling and improved clarity within 15–20 minutes of starting the infusion.

IV treatments deliver larger volumes (typically 250–500ml), allowing for combinations of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and clinical compounds in a single session. This is the appropriate route for comprehensive recovery, immune support, regenerative work, NAD+ delivery, and high-dose Vitamin C.

Intramuscular (IM) Injections

A small volume of concentrated nutrient solution is injected into a large muscle (typically the gluteal muscle or upper arm) using a fine needle. The treatment takes 5–10 minutes total, with the actual injection lasting seconds.

IM injections are appropriate when:

  • You need a single nutrient delivered (B12, Vitamin D, biotin)
  • You don't want or need a full IV session
  • You're maintaining a regular nutrient pattern (e.g. monthly B12)
  • You want a quick top-up between IV sessions

IM nutrients are released more slowly into the bloodstream than IV (over hours rather than minutes) — which is appropriate for sustained-release applications and for patients who don't want or need the higher acute concentrations of IV delivery.

THE AEOM IV MENU

IV treatments —

our structured offering

Our IV menu is organised by purpose. Treatments range from foundational rehydration and vitamin support through to premium regenerative and cognitive protocols.

Foundational

Hydration Drip — £100 Sodium, potassium, calcium chloride, bicarbonate Clinical-grade rehydration. The simplest IV treatment — used for dehydration following travel, illness, intense exertion or general low fluid intake. The foundation many other IV protocols build on.

Multi-Vitamin Drip — £130 Sodium, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C Foundational vitamin support delivered with hydration. Useful as a general wellness top-up or starter IV for patients new to nutrient therapy.

Multi-Vitamin Drip ++ — £175 Sodium, Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin B12, Vitamin C, Vitamin D The enhanced version, adding Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D. Particularly useful in winter months and for patients with confirmed Vitamin D insufficiency.

Myers Cocktail — £190 Vitamin B Complex, magnesium, potassium and calcium chloride, zinc, selenium The clinical classic. Developed by Dr John Myers and used in clinical settings for over 40 years — combining magnesium, B vitamins, calcium and other nutrients for energy, recovery and general wellness support. The most widely-used clinical IV protocol, and a sensible default for first-time patients without a specific indication.

Recovery and Performance

Post-Workout Recovery — £160 Sodium, potassium, calcium chloride, bicarbonate, glutathione, Vitamin C, magnesium Targeted recovery following intense training, competition or sustained physical effort. Combines rehydration with key recovery nutrients (glutathione for oxidative stress, Vitamin C for inflammation, magnesium for muscle function).

Workout Energy Boost — £225 Sodium and amino acids Pre-training or pre-event preparation. Amino acid loading combined with hydration to support performance and reduce post-exertion fatigue.

Workout Energy Boost ++ — £260 Sodium, amino acids, Vitamin C The enhanced version, adding Vitamin C for additional antioxidant support around training.

Athlete Peak Performance — £275 Vitamin B Complex, potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B12, amino acids A more comprehensive performance protocol — combining the workout energy formulation with B vitamins for cellular energy production. Used regularly by serious recreational athletes and professionals on our Performance Optimisation programme.

Targeted Support

Alpha-Lipoic Acid Drip — £175 Sodium and alpha-lipoic acid Alpha-lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant with documented effects on glucose metabolism, nerve health and cellular energy production. Particularly useful for patients with metabolic concerns, peripheral neuropathy support, or as part of broader regenerative protocols.

Immunity Drip — £235 Sodium, amino acids, zinc, glutathione Immune support — used pre-travel, during seasonal illness periods, or following exposure to illness. Glutathione and zinc are both clinically validated immune-supporting nutrients.

Immunity Drip ++ — £280 Sodium, amino acids, zinc, glutathione, selenium, Vitamin C The comprehensive immunity protocol — adding selenium and Vitamin C. Particularly useful for patients with recurrent infections, those preparing for surgery, or following significant illness.

Focus Boost — £200 Sodium and amino acids Cognitive support protocol. Amino acid combination supporting neurotransmitter production and cognitive function — useful before significant cognitive demands (presentations, exams, intensive periods).

Metabolic Support — £200 Sodium, L-methionine 250mg, inositol 500mg, choline 500mg A lipotropic protocol containing methionine, inositol and choline — compounds that play documented roles in fat metabolism, liver function and cellular methylation. A clinical honest note: This protocol supports metabolic processes but does not "burn fat" as a standalone intervention. We've renamed it from common industry naming because the original framing overclaims. It's useful as part of a broader weight or metabolic protocol — not as a substitute for the lifestyle work that actually drives sustained metabolic change.

Post-Indulgence Recovery — £225 (also known as the "Hangover Drip") Sodium, amino acids, Vitamin B2, B5, calcium, magnesium, proline, zinc, Vitamin C, glutathione A comprehensive recovery protocol for patients dealing with the aftermath of significant alcohol consumption — supporting hydration, hepatic recovery, electrolyte balance and inflammatory response. Effective but not a license — alcohol still affects health regardless of post-event support.

Skin and Beauty

Skin & Hair Glow — £200 Sodium, Vitamin B Complex, zinc, biotin, Vitamin C, glutathione A nutritional protocol supporting skin and hair quality from within. Particularly effective when combined with topical skin treatments — built into Glow Reset and several skin programmes.

Skin Glow + — £200 Sodium, glutathione, Vitamin C Concentrated glutathione and Vitamin C combination. Used by patients specifically focused on skin brightness, antioxidant support, and complexion quality.

Premium and Customised

Glutathione — from £150 Hydration with glutathione Available in 1.2g, 2.4g and 3g doses depending on indication and patient profile. Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant; IV delivery achieves plasma concentrations not possible with oral supplementation.

High-Dose Vitamin C — from £125 Sodium with Vitamin C Available in 6.25g, 12.5g and 25g doses. High-dose Vitamin C has documented immune, antioxidant and skin-supporting effects at these levels — well beyond what oral supplementation can achieve.

NAD+ — from £250 Available in 250mg, 500mg and 750mg doses NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme central to cellular energy production and DNA repair. IV NAD+ has become one of the most-discussed wellness protocols of recent years, with proponents citing benefits for energy, cognitive function and longevity work. Honest note: The clinical evidence base for IV NAD+ is genuinely promising but still developing — particularly for the longevity claims. We use it because patients report meaningful effects and the underlying biology is sound, but we won't claim more than the evidence supports.

Limitless NAD+ — £450 NAD+ (500mg) combined with any other non-premium drip A more comprehensive NAD+ protocol combining NAD+ with the appropriate base IV for your goals. Used by patients investing seriously in regenerative and cognitive work.

Total Rejuvenation — £400 Vitamin B Complex, potassium, magnesium, Vitamin B12, amino acids, selenium, Vitamin C, zinc, glutathione, CoQ10, Vitamin D3 Our most comprehensive standard IV — combining the elements of multiple individual protocols. Used by patients on the Regenerative Performance programme and as a single comprehensive treatment for general wellness work.

Curcumin — £275 Sodium, potassium, calcium chloride, bicarbonate, curcumin IV curcumin delivers the active compound from turmeric at concentrations not achievable orally. Documented anti-inflammatory effects; useful for patients with inflammatory conditions, joint concerns or as part of broader anti-inflammatory protocols.

Resveratrol — £275 Hydration plus resveratrol Resveratrol is a polyphenol with documented effects on cellular ageing pathways (particularly sirtuin activation). IV delivery achieves concentrations beyond what oral supplementation can produce. Often used alongside NAD+ in longevity-focused protocols.

Custom IV

For patients with specific clinical indications, identified deficiencies on bloodwork, or particular goals not addressed by standard protocols, we can design custom IV combinations. This is typically priced by component — speak to us at consultation.

WHO IT'S FOR

Who IV and IM
Nutrient Therapy is right for

Important pre-IV requirement:

IV/IM Nutrient Therapy is well-suited if you are:

N

Dealing with confirmed nutrient deficiencies identified on bloodwork (B12, iron, Vitamin D, etc.)

N

Recovering from illness, travel, intensive work or training periods

N

A serious recreational athlete wanting clinical-grade recovery support

N

Preparing for or recovering from significant events — competition, surgery, demanding professional periods

N

Building immune support ahead of travel, during seasonal illness periods, or following exposure

N

On a structured wellness programme where IV/IM is built in

N

Investing in longevity, NAD+ work or regenerative protocols as part of a broader plan

N

A vegetarian or vegan patient with documented B12, iron or other nutrient concerns

N

Perimenopausal and finding oral supplementation insufficient for nutrient needs

N

A member with monthly IV inclusions

IV/IM Nutrient Therapy may not be the right treatment if you have:

K

No identified clinical need — IVs work best when they address something specific

K

Severe needle phobia (though we can usually accommodate with appropriate technique)

K

Active bleeding disorders or significant anticoagulation

K

Severe cardiac, renal or hepatic dysfunction — speak to us at consultation

K

Active acute illness beyond simple cold/flu — see your GP first

K

Allergies to specific IV ingredients — we'll review at consultation

K

Pregnancy or breastfeeding — most IVs are not delivered during pregnancy

K

An expectation of dramatic transformation from a single visit — IVs support, they don't transform

All first-time IV patients complete a brief medical assessment and screening before treatment. For higher-volume infusions (Total Rejuvenation, NAD+, high-dose Vitamin C, custom protocols), we may recommend basic bloodwork before treatment — particularly to confirm kidney function for hydration-heavy protocols and G6PD status for high-dose Vitamin C. Bloodwork is available through our Blood Panels service or can be sourced via your GP.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Before, during and after

Before

Consultation and screening

All first-time IV patients complete a brief consultation reviewing your medical history, current medications, allergies and what you're hoping to achieve. For most standard IV protocols, this is a 10-minute conversation. For premium or custom protocols, a longer consultation may be appropriate.

Preparation:

  • Eat normally — don't fast before IV treatment
  • Stay well-hydrated in the hours before
  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing
  • Bring something to occupy you (book, phone, laptop)

During

IV Treatment

A typical IV session takes 30–60 minutes depending on protocol:

  • 0:00–0:10 — Brief check-in, vital signs, cannula placement
  • 0:10–0:40 — IV infusion. You sit comfortably in a treatment chair. Most patients describe a sense of warmth and settling within the first 10–15 minutes
  • 0:40–0:50 — Cannula removal, pressure applied, brief recovery
  • 0:50 — Departure

The cannula placement is the only meaningful "discomfort" — a brief sting as the small cannula is placed. Once in place, you don't feel it. Most patients use the time to work, read, watch something or simply rest.

IM Injection

A typical IM session takes 5–10 minutes total:

  • 0:00–0:05 — Brief check-in, injection site preparation
  • 0:05–0:08 — Injection (the actual injection takes seconds)
  • 0:08–0:10 — Aftercare, departure

Mild soreness at the injection site for 24–48 hours is normal but typically minor.

After

Recovery

Immediately: Most patients feel noticeably better within 30 minutes of completing an IV — clearer-headed, more hydrated, slightly energised. The specific effects depend on the protocol.

24 hours: Effects often peak within the first 24 hours, particularly for energy, immune support, recovery and skin protocols. Some treatments (NAD+, Glutathione) produce effects that compound over the following days.

Days following: Single IV sessions provide noticeable but transient benefit. Sustained value comes from regular treatment (typically monthly maintenance) or course-based protocols within wellness programmes.

AEOM AT HOME — COMING 2026

Private at-home IV — launching for members and programme patients in 2026

For patients on AEOM programmes and membership, we're launching a discreet, regulated at-home IV service in 2026 — delivered by AEOM clinical staff to your home or workplace, with the same clinical-grade protocols, products and oversight as in-clinic treatment.

AEOM at Home will offer:

    N

All standard AEOM IV protocols delivered in your home or workplace

    N

Same clinical oversight as in-clinic — delivered by AEOM nursing staff, not third-party contractors

    N

Initial London Zone 1 coverage, with broader expansion through 2026 and 2027

    N

Available to programme patients and members — protecting the clinical context

The at-home IV market in London is currently dominated by general delivery services, often without proper clinical continuity. The AEOM at Home model is structured differently: every patient is already known to us through programme or membership, every IV is delivered within a clinical pathway we're managing, and every visit is documented as part of your care.

Speak to our team about programme or membership pathways that will include AEOM at Home from launch.

    What IV and IM Nutrient
    Therapy will and won't do

The IV wellness industry tends to overpromise. Here's what's actually realistic:

IVs deliver nutrients efficiently — they don't cure underlying conditions.

If you're chronically deficient because of an absorption disorder, dietary pattern or medication interaction, the IV addresses the deficiency but doesn't fix the underlying cause. We'll discuss the cause at consultation.

A single IV produces noticeable but transient effects.

Most single-session benefits last 1–3 days. Sustained value comes from regular treatment or programme-based protocols.

"Fat burner" type drips are not a weight loss intervention.

The compounds in our Metabolic Support protocol have documented metabolic roles — but they don't replace the lifestyle work that produces sustained weight change. We've renamed this protocol specifically because the industry-standard naming overclaims.

NAD+ is promising but the longevity evidence is developing.

Patients reporting meaningful effects on energy and cognitive function are common; the long-term anti-ageing claims sometimes made for NAD+ are not yet fully supported by published clinical evidence. We use it transparently — interesting protocol with developing evidence, not a proven longevity intervention.

Hangover drips work but aren't a license.

Yes, Post-Indulgence Recovery is genuinely effective. No, that doesn't make heavy drinking healthy. The IV supports your body's recovery from significant alcohol consumption — it doesn't undo the broader effects.

IVs aren't a substitute for diet, sleep and exercise.

This is the most important honest point. No IV protocol replaces the lifestyle foundations that produce sustained health. We use IVs where they add genuine value on top of those foundations — not as a workaround for skipping them.

    COMBINE WITH

    Treatments IV and IM
    combine well with

    IV + Evocell

The most-used wellness combination at AEOM. IV nutrition supports cellular metabolism from within; Evocell stimulates cellular activity mechanically. Built into Recovery Reset, Energy & Recovery, and Performance Optimisation programmes.

    IV + LED Therapy

IV and LED both support cellular function via different mechanisms. Often delivered same-day as a recovery pairing.

    IV + Bloodwork

For patients with persistent symptoms, IV protocols become significantly more targeted when bloodwork has identified what's actually deficient. We frequently recommend bloodwork before designing custom IV combinations.

    IV + Nutritionist Consultation

IV protocols address the acute nutrient need; nutritionist consultation addresses the dietary patterns that may be contributing. Particularly valuable for patients with chronic deficiencies driven by dietary patterns.

Skin & Hair Glow IV + Skin Treatments

Built into our Glow Reset, Collagen Rebuild and Regenerative Lift programmes. Internal nutrient support alongside topical skin work.

Athlete Peak Performance IV + Performance Optimisation Programme

The IV protocol most associated with athletic performance support. Delivered regularly throughout the programme.

    Frequently asked questions

Do I actually need an IV, or could I just take supplements?

This is a fair and important question. For many patients, well-chosen oral supplementation is genuinely the right answer — particularly for daily maintenance of common nutrients (Vitamin D, Omega-3, basic multivitamin). IVs add real value in specific situations: confirmed deficiencies needing rapid repletion, nutrients with poor oral bioavailability (glutathione, NAD+, high-dose Vitamin C), recovery from illness or exertion, and as part of structured wellness programmes. We'll be honest at consultation about whether IV is genuinely useful for your situation or whether good oral supplementation would serve you better.

How often should I have an IV?

Depends on what you're addressing. For specific acute needs (post-illness recovery, immune support, pre-event preparation), one-off treatments work well. For sustained wellness support, monthly is typical. For active wellness programmes, 2–4 IVs across 6–10 weeks. For NAD+ protocols specifically, often weekly for 4–6 weeks initially, then monthly maintenance.

    Are IVs safe?

For appropriately screened patients delivered by clinical staff in appropriate settings, yes — IVs have an excellent safety profile.

The risks (rare, with proper screening) include allergic reactions, vein irritation, and complications from specific compounds in vulnerable patients. We screen for relevant medical history, allergies, kidney and liver function for higher-volume protocols, and other relevant factors before treatment.

Will I feel different after my first IV?

Most patients describe a noticeable change within 30 minutes — clearer-headed, more hydrated, slightly energised, sometimes a sense of warmth and settling.

The specific effects vary by protocol. For some IVs (NAD+, high-dose treatments), effects build over the following 24–48 hours rather than being immediately apparent.

What's the difference between IV and IM?

IV delivers nutrients directly into the bloodstream via a cannula in a vein, allowing larger volumes and faster onset.

IM delivers concentrated single-nutrient doses into a large muscle via injection, with slower release over hours. IV is appropriate for comprehensive protocols, larger volumes and faster effects; IM is appropriate for single-nutrient maintenance (B12, Vitamin D) or quick top-ups.

Can I have an IV during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Most IVs are not delivered during pregnancy. Simple hydration with electrolytes may be appropriate in specific contexts, but this would be by exception rather than standard practice. Speak to us at consultation if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.

    Is NAD+ worth the price?

The honest answer is: it depends. NAD+ IV is genuinely promising — patients commonly report meaningful effects on energy, mental clarity and recovery.

The clinical evidence base for the broader longevity claims is still developing. If you're investing in regenerative and cognitive work as part of a structured programme, NAD+ is a defensible component. If you're considering a one-off NAD+ infusion to "feel younger," we'd encourage realistic expectations.

Can I get an IV for my hangover?

Yes — our Post-Indulgence Recovery protocol is genuinely effective for the dehydration, inflammation, hepatic stress and electrolyte disturbance that follow significant alcohol consumption. Most patients report meaningful improvement within an hour. We mention this transparently because patients search for "hangover drip London" and it would be artificially restrained not to acknowledge what the treatment actually does. With that said: regular reliance on hangover IVs is a sign that alcohol consumption itself may need addressing.

    What happens at the consultation?

For first-time IV patients, a 10-minute conversation reviewing your medical history, current medications, allergies, recent illnesses, and what you're hoping to achieve. For more complex or higher-volume protocols, a longer clinical assessment.

Will I bruise after the IV?

Mild bruising at the cannula site is occasional but typically minor and settles in 5–7 days. We use small-gauge cannulas to minimise this; patients with significant bruising tendency should mention this at consultation.

Can I have an IV if I'm afraid of needles?

Yes, with appropriate technique. We use small cannulas, take time over placement, and can work around significant needle anxiety. For patients with severe needle phobia, IM injection may be a more comfortable starting point than IV.

When will AEOM at Home IV launch?

2026. We're building the at-home service to launch within the year, starting with programme patients and members in London Zone 1. Wider availability through 2026 and 2027. Speak to us about programme or membership pathways that will include AEOM at Home access.

    Where is AEOM located?

Our clinic is at 116 Seymour Place in Marylebone, London.

Marylebone, Baker Street and Edgware Road stations are all under ten minutes on foot. Free street parking is available after 6.30pm, with paid bays on York Street nearby — daytime parking is reimbursed for treatments over £200. Treatments are by appointment only.

    Ready to discuss
    IV or IM treatment?

IV and IM nutrient therapy works best when it's part of a considered plan — not delivered as a one-off intervention. Book a treatment, or speak to our team about how IV protocols fit into broader wellness programmes, membership pathways or the upcoming AEOM at Home service.
