Exosome Therapy

Advanced regenerative support for the skin.

Exosome therapy is one of the most advanced options in regenerative skincare. Used most often alongside microneedling or PRP, it introduces concentrated regenerative signalling factors to support the skin's own repair and renewal, helping to improve skin quality, calm the skin, and enhance recovery. At AEOM it's offered as a considered, clinically-supervised add-on to our regenerative treatments, where it's genuinely appropriate for your skin.

What exosomes are

Exosomes are tiny signalling vesicles that carry the messages cells use to communicate, including the signals involved in repair and regeneration. In skin treatment, concentrated exosome preparations are used to support the skin's own regenerative processes: encouraging renewal, supporting a calmer skin response, and enhancing recovery after treatments that stimulate the skin.

Unlike PRP and PRF, which are drawn from your own blood, exosome preparations are a manufactured regenerative product. This is why we use them selectively, under clinical supervision, and only where they're genuinely appropriate, matched to your skin and your treatment plan rather than offered as a default.

How it's used

Exosome therapy works best delivered into skin that has been prepared to receive it,  which is why it's most often paired with microneedling (where the exosomes are applied to freshly created micro-channels) or PRP, combining your own regenerative plasma with concentrated signalling support. Used this way, it can enhance the regenerative response and support recovery. It's suited to patients focused on skin quality, texture and recovery, particularly as part of a structured regenerative plan rather than as a standalone treatment.

WHO IT'S FOR

Who PRF is right for

Well-suited if you're looking for:

N

Overall improvement in skin quality, texture and firmness through a natural, regenerative treatment

N

Improvement in the under-eye area where skin quality and tone are the concern

N

Support for early-to-moderate hair thinning or shedding

N

A treatment that uses your own biology rather than synthetic products

N

Regenerative work that pairs well with microneedling and other skin treatments

Standard PRP is typically the better choice if:

K

Bleeding disorders or active blood-thinning medication (speak to us at consultation — risk profile shifts)

K

Active infections or open wounds in the treatment area

K

Active cancer or recent chemotherapy

K

Significant anaemia (we may run bloods first to confirm safety)

K

Pregnancy or breastfeeding — neither treatment is delivered during pregnancy

K

Keloid scarring history — we'd assess at consultation

WHAT TO EXPECT

What results actually look like

PRF is regenerative, so its effects build over time rather than appearing at once. Most patients see progressive improvement in skin quality, firmness and texture across a course, with the fullest results developing over the following weeks. In the under-eye, PRF's sustained release supports the quality and tone of the delicate skin gradually and naturally. Because it works with your body's own repair processes, PRF produces natural, gradual change, a course delivers meaningfully more than a single session, and maintenance sustains it.

    The honest summary

Exosome therapy is a genuinely advanced regenerative option, but it's an emerging one, the science is developing, and we're honest about that. We use it where there's a sound rationale for your skin, under clinical supervision, as part of a considered plan, not as a headline treatment or a cure-all. At consultation we'll tell you honestly whether exosome therapy adds something meaningful to your plan, or whether PRP, PRF or another approach is the better route for your concern.

    COMPARED WITH OTHER REGENERATIVE TREATMENTS

    Exosome therapy compared

    Exosomes vs PRF/PRP

Both are drawn from your own blood, and both are genuinely regenerative, the difference is in preparation and release. PRP concentrates platelets for an immediate, powerful release of growth factors. PRF is prepared without anticoagulant to form a fibrin matrix that releases those growth factors slowly, over days. PRP suits a strong initial regenerative boost; PRF suits gradual, sustained biostimulation and delicate areas like the under-eye. Neither is "better", they suit different concerns, and we'll recommend the right one at consultation.

    Exosomes vs Skin Boosters

Skin boosters use hyaluronic acid to improve hydration and elasticity — a different mechanism entirely. Exosome therapy supports the skin's regenerative and repair processes. Boosters work on hydration and skin quality directly; exosomes support renewal and recovery, most often alongside a treatment like microneedling.

    Exosomes vs Microneedling alone

Microneedling stimulates the skin's repair through controlled micro-injury. Adding exosome therapy introduces concentrated regenerative signals into the freshly prepared skin, intended to support and enhance that repair response. Microneedling delivers its own results; exosomes are used to support and build on them where appropriate.

    COMBINE WITH

    Treatments that combine well
    with PRP

    SkinPen Elite Microneedling

The natural pairing. Microneedling creates channels for the growth factors to work into, combining regenerative repair with collagen stimulation for skin quality and texture together.

    LED Light Therapy

LED after treatment supports recovery and the skin's regenerative response, a gentle complement to exosome work.

    Skin Boosters

Both improve skin quality by different means; used across a plan they support hydration, regeneration and overall skin health.

    PRP

Used within a broader regenerative plan, PRP's immediate boost and PRF's sustained release can complement each other across a course, matched to the concern and area.

    Frequently asked questions

    What are exosomes?

Exosomes are tiny vesicles cells use to send signals to one another, including signals involved in repair and regeneration. In skincare, concentrated exosome preparations are used to support the skin's own renewal and recovery.

How is this different from PRP or PRF?

PRP and PRF are drawn from your own blood, fully autologous. Exosome preparations are a manufactured regenerative product. All are regenerative, but the source is the key difference, and we'll explain which is right for you at consultation.

    Is exosome therapy safe?

We use exosome therapy selectively, under clinical supervision, and only where it's genuinely appropriate for your skin. As with any treatment that stimulates the skin, some redness or mild sensitivity is normal afterwards. We'll discuss suitability fully at consultation.

Does it work on its own?

Exosome therapy is designed to be delivered alongside a treatment that prepares the skin, most often microneedling or PRP, rather than as a standalone treatment. This is how it's intended to be used.

How soon will I see results?

As with all regenerative treatments, results build gradually over the weeks following treatment rather than appearing immediately.

    Is exosome therapy proven?

It's an advanced and promising area of regenerative skincare, but an emerging one, and the science is still developing. We're honest about that, we use it where there's a sound rationale for your skin, as part of a considered plan, and we'll always tell you if another approach would serve you better.

    Where is AEOM located?

Our clinic is at 116 Seymour Place in Marylebone, London.

Marylebone, Baker Street and Edgware Road stations are all under ten minutes on foot. Free street parking is available after 6.30pm, with paid bays on York Street nearby — daytime parking is reimbursed for treatments over £200. Treatments are by appointment only.

    Ready to discuss PRF?

Both PRF routes are well-established and well-evidenced, but the right choice between them depends on your specific concerns, goals and visit preferences. Book a consultation and we'll discuss which protocol is most appropriate for you, and how it fits into your broader skin or hair plan.
